Every year, the German business magazine CAPITAL and the online platform Statista honour Germany's most innovative companies.
The selection was made for 20 sectors and industrial areas: from the automotive industry to the chemical sector to energy and the environment. A total of 3566 innovation experts were asked to rate companies in their sectors. From a total of 1902 candidates, the panel filtered out those 465 companies that are considered to be particularly innovative. 151 candidates achieved results in the top quarter of the preselection and thus received the highest rating of five stars, 314 received four stars.
Recommendations covered for the following categories:
The experts consider the sectors chemical, pharmaceutical & biotechnology (40 per cent), automotive & commercial vehicles (36 per cent) and energy & environment (34 per cent) to be particularly innovative.
