Heraeus Medical drives global growth and innovation with new strategic business area for resorbable biomaterials 

Expanding excellence in resorbable biomaterials 
With its established portfolio of bone cements and products for cementing technique, Heraeus Medical is a global leader in the field of implant fixation in arthroplasty surgery as well as infection management in joint replacement procedures. Building on this foundation, the company pursues its expansion to better meet the rising demands in patient care and to support patient-specific therapies more effectively. This results in a broader spectrum of innovative products and solutions from a single source for orthopaedics and traumatology. The portfolio expansion is accompanied organizationally by site development. 

Complementary center of excellence in Radebeul (Germany) 
With the acquisition of INNOTERE GmbH in Radebeul (Germany) and the organizational integration of the local workforce and production, Heraeus Medical has laid an important foundation for the new business area and the company’s continued growth. The Radebeul site will continue to operate as an innovation and excellence center for resorbable biomaterials and complements the headquarter in Wehrheim (Germany), where the development and production of bone cements and related products are based. Both sites are closely integrated from a technical standpoint and provide a robust framework for research, development and scaling. Heraeus Medical is systematically expanding its international market presence. 

Global market presence in the ‘resorbable materials’ segment with US product Synthecure^® 
As a further strategic pillar of its global growth strategy, Heraeus Medical has acquired Synthecure^® from Austin Medical (USA), an FDA‑approved product in the field of resorbable materials. With this step, the company expands its product portfolio in the United States and strengthens its presence in a key market for orthopaedics and traumatology.

Background: New brand and product portfolio for resorbables (heracure^® and Synthecure^®) 

• As part of the acquisition of INNOTERE GmbH, the newly created heracure product line with the product families heracure one and heracure 3D has been integrated into Heraeus Medical’s sales and product structure. It comprises bone substitute materials based on calcium phosphate that can be either used in the application to or filling of existing non‑infected, non‑load‑bearing bone defects. Both heracure product families are CE‑marked under the MDR. Direct sales through Heraeus Medical began in the first quarter of 2026 in selected markets and will subsequently be rolled out globally.
• With the acquisition of the product Synthecure^®, Heraeus Medical offers a fully synthetic bone void filler based on pure calcium sulphate that can be applied directly into infected bone defects and cavities. Synthecure^® is FDA‑approved and is currently offered exclusively on the US market. Further availability outside the US market will be announced in due course.
