The assessment focuses on four topics: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Heraeus Medical achieved a consistently high score in all areas well above the industry benchmark, placing it in the top 5% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis.

In line with the United Nations Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), companies have committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, creating decent working conditions, combating discrimination, reducing water consumption in production, developing renewable energy sources and much more. The EcoVadis award confirms that HME is already implementing these points in many policies and assessments.
EcoVadis is a global provider of business sustainability ratings. The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO Guideline 26000. A total of more than 100,000 companies from over 175 countries and 200 different industries have already been assessed by EcoVadis regarding their corporate activities.
