    • Deep SSI rate of 1.2% when protheses were cemented with COPAL® G+C vs. 1.7% deep SSI rate when protheses were fixed with low-dose single antibiotic-loaded bone cement (SALBC) 
  • No differences with respect to secondary outcomes

  • Prospective randomised multicentre study in patients aged 60 years and older with cemented hemiarthroplasty after fractured neck of femur (FNOF)
  • Comparison of prothesis fixation with high-dose dual antibiotic-loaded bone cement (DALBC) COPAL® G+C vs. SALBC
  • Primary endpoint: deep SSI at 90 days post-randomisation
Study Design: Randomised trial in 4,936 patients aged 60 years and older with cemented hemiarthroplasty after FNOF. Control group: 2,453 patients randomised to SALBC; intervention group: 2,483 patients randomised to COPAL G+C. Primary endpoint was deep SSI at 90 days post-randomisation. Figure based on Agni et al.
